Introducing the NEW Oak Astro Optical Accessory Kit featuring the OA-AFH-V2

DITCH THE STRING!

First there was the OA-AFH, the worlds first articulated 2" filter holder for use with the ZWO Seestar S50, designed for use in alt-az mode it ensured that precious filters were kept safe by moving them out of the way.

Now the Seestar S50 has evolved and officially supports EQ (equatorial) mode, likewise the OA-AFH has evolved and now with version 2 of the filter holder will ensure that those filters are kept safe whether the Seestar is in alt-az or eq configuration.

The new design includes a remodelled ADS (advanced dew shield) to fit to the AFH-V2 combining the riffled and baffled upper with the flocked lower part. Normally these features were only available seperately or as add-ons, they are now part of the package.

No more jams.
No more dew shields and filters on the floor.
No more string hanging off your Seestar holding your dew shield / filter holder on.

Just a reliable solution that ensures that your Seestar, expensive filters and dew shield are kept safe during use.

The OA-S50-AFH-V2 is also easy to flip up and out of the imaging train while imaging if you want to take some unfiltered (the Seestars selected internal filter will still be in place) exposures. 

The OAKv2 will be replacing the OAKv1 (we have some left which will be available at a reduced price - once they're gone, they're gone), as well as replacing the ADS offering.

Why replace the ADS? Well, the OAK v2 price is the same as the ADS kit, you don't have to use filters with it, although it offers that flexibility should you change your mind, which really makes the ADS kit redundant. OAK v2, more features, same price.

Masks have also been retired, although we can make these available as an add-on should there be enough interest from customers.

The image of M81 (Bodes Galaxy) and M82 (Cigar Galaxy) are the result of around 24 hours of 30s exposures taken with a Seestar S50 in a Bortle 7 area from a garden surrounded by security lights with the OAKv2 kit fitted (it never needed to be removed). The exposures were stacked and processed in PixInsight.

The OAKv2 kit comprises of:

• The AFHv2 2" articulated filter holder - remodelled threads.
• A 2" to 1.25" adapter plate - Also usable in 2" filter holders like the SVBONY SV226
• Remodelled Advanced Dew Shield / Light Hood for the OAKv2 kit.

Please note that the OA-S50-AFHv2 is NOT currently compatible with the OA Sillstand as the OA Sillstand does not provide enough clearance for the filter holder when the Seestar is in it's parked position, however we will be looking into remodelling the Sillstand so that they are compatible.
