Introducing the latest Oak Astro Optical Accessory Kit featuring the OA-AFH-V2 for both the Seestar S50 and the Seestar S50Pro
DITCH THE STRING!
First there was the OA-AFH, the worlds first articulated 2" filter holder for use with the ZWO Seestar S50, designed for use in alt-az mode it ensured that precious filters were kept safe by moving them out of the way.
The new design includes a remodelled ADS (advanced dew shield) to fit to the AFH-V2 combining the riffled and baffled upper with the flocked lower area. Normally these features were only available seperately or as add-ons, they are now part of the package.
Now the Seestar S50 has evolved again into the Seestar S50Pro, and the AFH-V2 has as well with the AFH-V2-S50P
No more jams.
No more dew shields and filters on the floor.
No more string hanging off your Seestar holding your dew shield / filter holder on.
Just a reliable solution that ensures that your Seestar, expensive filters and dew/light shield are kept safe during use.
The AFH-V2-S50P is also easy to flip up and out of the imaging train while imaging if you want to take some unfiltered (the Seestars selected internal filter will still be in place) exposures.
The image of M33(Triangulum Galaxy) is the result of around 4 hours of 60s exposures taken with a Seestar S50Pro in a Bortle 7 area from a garden surrounded by security lights with the OAKv2 kit fitted (it never needed to be removed). The exposures were stacked and processed in the S50Pro itself.
The advanced dewshield features a rifled and baffled upper section with a flocked lower section and is made from carbon fibre reinforced petg. The rifling and baffles outperforms standard smooth light shields in terms of scattering latteral light and further increases contrast in images.
The S50P-OAKv2 kit comprises of:
- The AFHv2 2" articulated filter holder.
- A 2" to 1.25" adapter plate - Also usable in 2" filter holders like the SVBONY SV226
- Remodelled Advanced Dew Shield / Light Hood for the OAKv2 kit.
- Bhatinov mask.
- 4 spike star mask.
- 6 spike star mask.

Please note that the AFHv2-S50P is NOT currently compatible with the OA Sillstand as the OA Sillstand does not provide enough clearance for the filter holder when the Seestar is in it's parked position, however we will be looking into remodelling the Sillstand so that they are compatible.

It is hard to fault this device! I bought it because I wanted to add different filters to my SeeStar S50 and because I wanted to reduce extraneous light getting in. It works on both counts. I recommend users read the manual as the mounting flap could easily be damaged by not following the publiushed guidance.
All arrived in good condition, a nice update from the original set,just waiting for dark enough skies to put them to use
Great bit of kit, dew shield and filter holder all in one. Its a clever design and a game changer. Make sure you read the accompanying instructions to make the installation and removal easier.

Excellent piece of kit, i didnt realise that the Dew guard came with a bahtinov mask as well as a lens cap. Super fast delivery too
