Introducing the OA-DL-Mini-OAK, the smallest smartscope now has the smallest accessory kit to go along with it.

The kit features:

  • A magnetic threaded base which also keeps the view from the wide angle lens unobstructed (when not using the dew shield, view is partially obstructed when the dew shield is fitted). This allows for the fitting of 3rd party 1.25" astro filters and also the attachment of a threaded and flocked dew shield.

  • A threaded and flocked dew / light shield.

  • A Bhatinov mask as well as Newtonian (4 spike), and Webb (6 spike) diffraction masks are also included.

  • All fits into a handy carrying pouch which is also supplied.

    SOLAR IMAGING - Recommend using the Dwarflab supplied filter

    If you intend to use your own 1.25" solar filter with this kit:
  • The wide angle shield on the filter holder must be blocking the wide angle lens.
  • The DwarfLab mini as part of it's calibration process for tracking the sun fully closes (knocking the filter holder off) before opening the scope again (at which point you must attach the filter holder again, before the main objective lens aligns with the sun.
  • The dew/light shield should not be used during solar imaging as this increases the chance of accidentally knocking off the filter holder and directly exposing the Mini's sensor to the sun leading to permanent damage.

    Solar imaging is undertaken entirely at the users own risk.


Currenty we've been experiencing an extrordinary amount of cloud (no clear sky in over 2 months) which means we haven't been able to take any shots with the Mini as yet. As soon as we get a clear night we'll get some example shots up in the product images.
