This base was developed for our own broken Dwarf 2 as Dwarflab were unable to provide a replacement and the unit was out of warranty.
The STL for this model is available for free from the blog entry in the news section of our site. We decided to make it free to help support the Dwarf 2 community so that anyone who has suffered a broken base has access to the model which they can print or have printed at a 3D Print shop (it should be printed in a carbon fibre re-inforced filament such as PETG-CF). If you could some change for a coffee for the work that went into designing and testing the base that would really be appreciated, there's a buy me a coffee button on the blog page, how much that stl is worth is entirely down to you, nothing is expected.
We are offering the base for sale at a bare minimum cost, which covers running costs to produce the item, for those that are having difficulty in finding someone or somewhere that can do that for them.
You will need to be fairly comfortable working with small components although there is nothing particularly complicated about carrying it out, if you can wire a plug you can probably manage this repair. The item is for the sole purpose of repairing the base of a Dwarf 2 and will not solve other issues where the D2 may have been dropped for example.
This item is made to order meaning there is a small extended shipping time while an order is manufactured and passes QA.
This item only includes the plastic base with 3/8 16 brass insert as shown. Other hardware required to effect the base repair will need to be gathered from your broken Dwarf 2 and ordered in the case of the M4 - 14 hex cap bolts. It is worth checking on the availability of these bolts to you before ordering.
The bolt caps should be no more that 7mm wide and 4-5mm deep otherwise they will not fit your replacement base. These bolts from Amazon will work: TERF M4 - 14 just make sure to order the correct size from their selection.
