OAK Astro OA-AFH - Evolved - OAK v2

With the official release of EQ mode and requests from various customers we set about re-designing the original OA-AFH.

The original, ensured that there were no jams betwen the Seestar S50 and any fitted 2" filter holder, but it only worked in alt-az mode.

V2 of the OA-AFH completes the puzzle and ensures that the hinge mechanism operates in both alt-az and eq modes seemlessly. Not only that, but it also means that the AFH can now be used with the OAK dew shield and ADS extender without any risk of the mechanism jamming the Seestar S50 arm when it shuts down both manually and automatically. The OA-AFH-V2 has just completed a full week of trials in both alt-az and eq mode and has operated perfectly every time the Seestar shut down.

No more jams.
No more dew shields and filters lying on the ground.
No more bits of string holding dewshields onto your S50 to catch them when they fall.

The Oak Astro AFH V2 is the solution anyone using a Seestar S50 and wanting to use their own filters along with a dew shield has been looking for.

Going  forward the original OA-AFH will be retired and be replaced with the OA-AFH-V2, which will be available as part of the new OAK Optical Accessory Kit coming in May.
